Travel and Alcohol
Avoid motion sickness by avoiding use of alcohol (liquors and wines, beers, etc.) just before beginning a trip and during the trip. Not appealing?
Remember, if you are attempting to avoid using alcohol, you will be paying attention to your intake. You may not have to avoid it entirely, but you will find it easier to cut back if you will just make the effort.

Eat before your ride
Eat SOMETHING before a car, train, or plane ride!
Skip heavy meals with high fat content if you can avoid them. The fats can upset the stomach. When booking a flight, reserve the low-fat, low-sodium, diabetic, kosher, or vegetarian meal or skip the flight food and take your own saltines, Melba toast, candied ginger or bananas.

Rocking Your Boat?
If you are traveling by boat, you can get relief from motion sickness by staying near the middle of the boat and on upper decks if there are more than one deck.

Take the Back Seat
You need to take a seat which faces forward to avoid motion sickness. If you are small in stature, sit on a cushion so you can see straight ahead and focus on distant/steady points.

Avoid activities such as reading or handwork which cause you to put your head down. Avoid moving your head around when making conversation.
Safe activities may include wearing headphones and listening to soothing music or audio books.
Take a break and a nap if you arenīt driving.
