Hemp Oil - Benefits

Hempseed oil is a highly recommended, nutritional food source. More than 75% of the fatty acids in the oil are polyunsaturated fats. It is the highest in essential fatty acids (EFAīs) of any plant. One teaspoon contains a large portion of Omega-3 (20%) and Omega-6 (55%) oils and also the rare, gamma-linolenic acid (3%), which are needed by the human body. Hempseed oil also provides an adequate supply of antioxidants such as vitamin E, carotene, phytosterols, and lethacin. Many minerals are also in the oil. They include calcium, magnesium, sulphur, potassium, phosphorus, and a small amount of iron and zinc. Hemp Oil can be applied externally or taken internally. Due to the high levels of EFAīs, some of the benefits of hempseed oil may include: *Reduced heart and stroke risk *Lower blood pressure, cholesterol, and triglyceride levels *Increased moisture in the skin *Relief with psoriasis and eczema *Improvement with acne *Prevention of osteoporosis *Improvement of PMS symptoms *Improvement in MS & diabetic symptoms *Reduction in inflammation from rheumatoid arthritis and other inflammatory diseases Hemp Oil should be stored in a cool dark place and consumed within 3-6 months. It should be used for low temperature cooking only; itīs not recommended for deep frying.
