Tip of the Week

In today´s world of computers are eyes are being extremely overworked. Our eyes hold the tension and stress of our day.

Eye exercises should be done on a regular basis (daily or weekly). Eye exercises will help to give your eyes so well needed rest, soothe and lubricate eyes, strengeth and improve vision health, circulation, eye muscle strength, and enhances your focus and attention.

So what are some Eye Exercises and how do I do them?

1. UP AND DOWN

Soften your gaze. Look out to the center and forward. Draw an imaginary line from the ceiling to the floor. Inhale slowly while you direct your gaze to the ceiling, exhale slowly while you lower your gaze to the floor. Remember to draw the line slowly and softly with your eyes, repeat 5 times.

To finish, rapidly blink your eyes several times and then close your eyes and allow then to relax.

2. SIDE TO SIDE

Soften your gaze to the center and forward. Inhale slowly rotating your gaze to the far left, exhale slowly rotating your gaze to the far right.

Try and keep your head from moving from side to side with your eyes. Keep your head still and steady.

Slow down and please repeat it five times.

To finish, rapidly blink your eyes several times and then close your eyes to relax and breath.

3. CLOCKWISE

Soften your gaze to the center and slowly look towards the ceiling. Slowly begin to rotate your eyes clockwise beginning at twelve o’clock, one o’clock, two o’clock…until you reach twelve o´clock again. Slow down and repeat three times.

To finish, rapidly blink your eyes several times and then close your eyes to relax. Don´t forget to breath.

If that works for you next try counter-clockwise, or rotate between clockwise and counter-clockwise. Be sure you close your eyes for some rest, when you are done for a few minutes.

Back to the carrots - Studies have found that the Vitamin A found in carrots does help to preserve vision but they never say how much Vitamin A is necessary.
