February 10, 2006, Newsletter Issue #50: Fresh is best!

Tip of the Week

When picking leafy greens at the market, choose whole heads of lettuces, mustard greens, escarole, and romaine instead of “salad in a bag” varieties. You’ll save money and they’ll last longer. (The exception is spinach, which may cost more whole than bagged due to the weight of the stems and dirt they usually contain).
