September 15, 2006, Newsletter Issue #80: Fish oils for healthy heart

Tip of the Week

Studies confrirm that eating even small amounts of fish(2/3 ounce) each day can significantly reduce your chance of a stroke. The reason is that fish is high in omega-3 oils, polyunsaturated fats that apparently thin blood and counteract clotting.

Good sources of omega-3 are trout, salmon, tuna, and herring.

If you are unable to get fish or donīt care for it, fish oils high in omega-3 are also available in capsules from your favorite vitamin or health food source.
