January 5, 2007, Newsletter Issue #94: Women´s Symptoms of Heart Attack

Tip of the Week

Women are more likely than men to experience what feels like nausea or even vomiting during a heart attack. Although women can and do experience violent chest pain, tightness in the chest, and shortness of breath, some women feel little or no chest pain when they have an attack. In fact many women experience so-called atypical symptoms not associated with a male heart attack. These atypical symptoms may come and go over time. If you are experiencing any of the above symptoms in combination with extreme exhaustion, shoulder and arm pain, call your doctor.
