July 18, 2008, Newsletter Issue #173: Drink temperature - absorption of drinks

Tip of the Week

Research shows that cool drinks - 40 to 50 degrees - are absorbed more quickly than lukewarm ones.

The cooler temperature (not freezing), may actually help ease your thirst more too.

Cooler water also forces the body to warm the water up during digestion and may burn more calories then lukewarm water.

Remember to consume a lot of liquids, especially cool water.
