Best rule of thumb for using Echinacea would be to use small daily doses or semi-daily amounts for immune system enhancement, and larger acute doses during the course of an ongoing infection such as a cold, flu, or fever. Echinacea has been found to be non-toxic, and helpful with symptom relief during the duration of an infection. For unusually long periods of cold symptoms, see your doctor.
