Many women suffer from diverse physical and emotional upsets for some days before their periods begin: swollen ankles and hands, distended stomach, tender breasts, weight gain, constipation, greasy skin and hair, insomnia, headaches, and mood swings. The precise hormonal disturbances that bring on these symptoms are a mystery to many, but the problems are REAL.

Relief and prevention can include drinking plenty of herbal teas and avoiding caffiene or alcohol or excessive salt a week before the period should start.

Evening primrose oil has been found helpful.

Take warm baths every day with your favorite bath oils. Massage a gentle, relaxing blend of oils into your abdomen and lower back area. After a bath, lie down for a short time in a darkened room with a pillow under your knees.

Always keep up with gentle exercise.
