Is the protein in rice easy to digest?

Rice in your diet

North Americans tend to ingest too much salt, fat and protein. In contrast, the diets of almost half the rest of the world's population consist of 80-90% rice. Our bodies need three times more carbohydrates than protein or fat, according to Moscoviz. "Rice offers a form of protein that is easily assimilated by the body, and the protein content of rice surpasses the others in the grain groups in its amino-acid structure."

There are several different types of rice, such as brown, wild and basmati which can offer you variety in your rice dishes. While rice may be high in proteins, it needs to be considered a starch on your menu and accompanied by other meat-type proteins.
