What can I do for a yeast infection?

Leucorrhea - Yeast Infection

An inflammation of the vagina often caused by fast growth of unwanted bacteria or even a kind of fungus that gives rise to a thick, white or yellow discharge. It often occurs if a woman has been taking a course of antibiotics. Women who are most susceptible are those using the contraceptive pill, those who are pregnant, or suffering from metabolic disorder diabetes.

Aromatherapy treatment includes adding two drops of juniper or lavender essential oil to your bath.

A good diet is essential in the prevention of leucorrhea especially in foods containing vitamins A and B.

Avoid underwear made of synthetics and tight fitting jeans. Try wearing cotton undies instead.

Avoid harsh detergents, bubble baths, or similar products.

Sometimes it helps to dip a tampon into plain yogurt and insert it into the vagina. Remove after a few minutes, leaving healthy bacteria on the skin surface of the vagina to help overcome the unwanted bacteria.
